Special Events
Orientation Week
Orientation Week is a can't-miss event! It begins on Sunday, September 1st, with community socials, dinner, and a welcome hosted by the Ridgetown Campus Student Council. Throughout the week, numerous events organized by student groups and campus departments will help you meet fellow Ridgetown Students, get involved in activities that interest you, and learn more about your program.
Spring Expo
This student-planned event includes Livestock Shows (beef, dairy, sheep, pigs), Dog Agility Courses, a BBQ, Equipment Show, and a Bake Sale. It’s an opportunity to show off campus to their friends, family and the local community.
OAC Winter Games
The best sporting weekend of the year! The OAC Winter Games are held alternating years in Guelph and Ridgetown, where UoG and RC students compete against each other. The Games are open to first and second year students in the OAC.
OAC Leadership Conference
This annual student leadership conference is held at the Guelph campus in January and gives students the opportunity to network, listen to guest speakers and develop their leadership skills.
Sports, Clubs & Committees
Intramural Sports
Intramural sports are offered in the evenings during the week, throughout the fall and winter semesters: indoor soccer, ball hockey, ice hockey, badminton, public skating, curling, and many more.
Fitness Centre
All students have access to the campus Fitness Centre which offers cardio equipment, weight machines and dumbbells. The Fitness Centre is located in the Rudy H. Brown Rural Development Centre.
Student-Led Clubs & Committees
There are many ways to exercise your interests on-campus and joining a club is a great way to meet people and learn more about campus.
There's a wide range of existing clubs, such as the Soil and Crop club, Horticulture club, Dairy club and so on. If you can't find what you are looking for, find out about starting your own student club by connecting with a student council representative. More information can be found by emailing rcsc@uoguelph.ca
